Chehlum Juloos in Mumbai City

Arbaeen Juloos in Mumbai. Which starts from Zainabia and terminates at Rehmatabad (graveyard at Mazgaon). The route is Zainabia-Moghul Masjid-JJ hospital-Noor Baugh-Mazgaon Sales Tax Office-Rehmatabad. The crowd in juloos was approx. above 3 lakhs. 99.9% wearing black clothes. Over 100 Anjumans participated and about 30 NGO's distributed tabarruk (refreshments) . Trucks and tempos distributing drinking water were more than 25. Tens of ambulances. Many First-Aid teams. The Arbaeen Juloos attendance is the highest in comparision to other Azadari Julooses. The Azadars skip their jobs and services or work for only first half day in their respective offices. Those in business close their shops and establishments for the day.

Majlis at Golibar Imambada, Khar (east)

A Majlis has been arranged at the Imambada of Golibar, famous as Husain Tekri, Khar (east) tonight at 9.00pm. Maulana Sayed Zulfiqar Saheb will speak on "Sabr". All are invited.

The Honor of Hazrat Abbas (a.s.)

The author of Maqatil writes that the caravan of Imam Husain (a.s.) had reached Karbala on the second of Muharram. Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) had erected the tents on the banks of Euphrates river. But the enemy did not allow Ahle Bait (a.s.) to camp on Euphrates and asked them to shift farther from the river. When Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) heard this, he was enraged and dared the enemy to come forward with the proposal.

Even as the heated exchange was on, Hazrat Zainab (s.a.) summoned Hazrat Abbas (a.s.). Before leaving, Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) drew a line in front of the tents and announced aloud,

Sewwum of Sartaj Mahdi

All are invited to the Sewwom (third day after death) Majlis at Zainabia Imambada, Mumbai. This Majlis will be recited by Hujjatul Islam Sayed Hasnain Kararvi. It will start by Quran Khwani at 10.00 AM. The sons of marhoom, Shajar Aalam & Shabab Aalam have requested to be there in large numbers. Please recite a surah for his departed soul.

Sartajbhai of Zainabia Trust Passed Away

It was a sad news for the Zainabia Trust that one of its staff Mr. Sartaj Mahdi s/o Kazim Husain could not bear a severe heart attack and passed away last night at J.J. Hospital. He was 62 yrs. He is survived by 2 sons, 2 daughters. He was the guardian of 3 nieces, 2 nephews. Late Sartaj Mahdi was the motivating force for the Anjuman-e-Farogh-e-Islam, Bandra (east), which organised a massive juloos every year on the martyrdom of Imam-e-Sajjad (a.s.), the 4th Imam. He was also a key person in the publication of Al-Ilm (bi-monthly), Friday Journal (fortnightly) & Al-Haadi (monthly).
His burial will take place at Rehmatabad, Mazgaon, after the Zohrayn prayers.
We request you to please perform namaz-e-wahshat tonight and recite sura-e-Fateha for his departed soul.

Majlis at Javed Rizvi's Residence

Yesterday evening, 10th Feb.'08 a Majlis was held at Rizvi Education Complex, Bandra (w), where the residence of Mr. Javed Rizvi is situated. Hujjatul Islam Janab Zaigham Rizvi Saheb was the Zakir. It started with the Qur'an recitation by Tusi Rizvi. After the Majlis Maghrabayn Namaz was held with Jama'at. The prominent personalities who were on the Farshe Aza were Mr. Mohd Husain Rizvi, Rushaid Rizvi, Majjan Rizvi, Principal Dr. G.A. Zaidi, Mr. G.A. Rizvi, Sajjad Ashraf, Zia Rizvi (Pappu), Mr. Zaheer Hasan Rizvi, Prof. Nazar Abbas, Prof. Abbas Alam, Naseer Azmi, Mahdi Azmi and other lovers of Ahlul Bayt(a.s.). The Khichda was served as Niyaz, which had a wonderful taste.
