Majlis, Nauha & Matam in the City

Yesterday, Mumbai city witnessed lots of Azadari activities in different areas, from Dongri in South to Vasai Road in the North. Majalis for ladies & gents. Tabut, Juloos, Khandaq, Shabbedaari etc etc. It was the busiest Saturday for the lovers of Imam Husain (a.s.). Every where there was mourning, nauha, matam, masaeb.
But, one of the best masaeb was at Zainabia Imambada. Maulana Ghazanfar Abbas was at his best in Masaeb. He recited Majlis for about 2 hrs in which the masaeb were of 17.30 minutes. The crowd spilled over the street. A huge screen was put up for those who could not get a place inside the hall.
The night resembled to the Aashur one. The masaeb of Imam Husain (a.s.) when he was slaughtered thirsty by Shimr (curse of Allah upon him and his supporters). There was a lot of wailing by the crowd. There was not a single eye which did not had tears in it.
I have uploaded that particular masaeb for you to listen. The quality of video is weak, but, the audio one is fine. The file is big, it may take sometime to open. But, its worth waiting.

Nauha Reciter Arrives from Allahabad

Janab Mohammad Aqeel (Mannu) has arrived in Bombay from Karari, Allahabad to recite nauhas at the Ashra-e-Majalis held at Ambedkar Road, Pali Hills, Bandra. The Ashra is going on since 1st of Safar. The majalis has special arrangement for ladies, though there is a special sitting arrangement for gents also. Hujjatul Islam Sayed Zaighamur Rizvi sahab is the Zakir. He has come all the way from Qom, Iran for this Ashra.

Ashra (10 Majlises) by Maulana Ghazanfar Abbas Saheb

Anjuman-e-Imamia has been organising Ashra of majalis for more than 4 decades at Zainabia Imambada (famous as BabarAli Imambada in the past). The Anjuman members are a majority of Mo'mineen belonging to Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh). The majalis start from 1st of Safar. After the 10th Majlis, the other Anjumans of Bombay City partake in Shabbe daari. Maulana marhum Tahir Jarwali sb (TS) was the first zakir of this Ashra, after his passing away, maulana Ghazanfar Abbas saheb was invited to recite majlis. Majlis at Nazar Ali Imambada, Kurla

Majalis from 28th Jan'08 to 7 Feb are going on at Nazar Ali Imambada, Kurla. It is organised by Anjuman-e-Gulshan-e-Ali. The Zakir is Jananb Sayed Nazar Mohammad Zainabi, belonging to Muzaffar Nagar. Julus-e-Aza at Bandra

Last night, there was a Julus-e-Aza at Bandra west, Bazar Road. It started from Mehfil-e-Panjatan after Maulana Riyaz Mucadam recited Majlis and terminated at Bandra Jam'e Masjid. More than 8 Anjumans participated. The Julus had a shabeeh of Zuljanah and a Tabut. Anjuman-e-Yadgar-e-Mahdi, Anjuman-e-Dargah-e-Abul Fazlil Abbas, Anjuman-e-Ya Ali (Kurla), Anjuman-e-Husaini (Malony, Malad), Anjuman-e-Ghuncha-e-Mo'jeza-e-Husain, Anjuman-e-Asgharya (Bombay), Tanzeem-e-Zahra, Anjuman-e-Saqqa-e-Haram etc. participated in Nauha and Matam. Hundreds of Azadars wearing black clothes walked along with the Julus.

Shabbedaari at Rizvi Baugh, Mumbra

For the last 23 years, Idara-e-Shahe Khurasan is organising a Shabbedaari at Rizvi Baugh, Mumbra. This year the programme started with the Majlis recited by Mr. Hashmat Rizvi who has a God gifted quality of doing zikre Imam Husayn (a.s.), though he has not been to any madrasah or any seminary. Hashmat spoke on "Remembering Ali (a.s.) is worship."
Four Anjumans are invited for doing nauha and matam. About 400 people attended the Majlis.

Majalis at Mira Road
